About me
Welcome!
My name is Judy Carlson and I am a life-long Minnesotan residing in Savage, MN. As the owner of Surrounded in Peace LLC, I support individuals and their loved ones with knowledge and guidance throughout the end-of-life processes.
My personal experience as a caregiver for my elderly parents called me into the Doula family as a Specialist to guide and coach individuals and families as they navigate questions and concerns, all while feeling Surrounded in Peace.
I have learned many details from hands-on personal experiences and I'm here to share that knowledge with you and your family. I am a Certified End of Life Doula Specialist through International Doulagivers™ Institute, as well as a member of the Minnesota Death Collaborative. I am skilled at guiding and supporting you in the development of your Peace of Mind Advanced Directives, Elder Care planning, and End of Life Doula services.

I have been trained and certified with International Doulagivers Institute, a globally recognized institute that provides the highest level of education and certification for professional Death Doulas.
Suzanne B. O'Brien is a registered nurse who has worked most of her career in either Hospice (end of life care) and/or Oncology (cancer care). She has had the honor and privilege to have personally worked at the bedside with over one thousand end of life patients and their families, from all different cultures, backgrounds, and nationalities.
In addition to being the creator and founder of Doulagivers Insititute, she is also a founding member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization's (NHPCO) End of Life Doula Council, and a founding member and former Vice President of the National End of Life Doula Alliance (NEDA).
For over a decade now she has been training End of Life Doulas to help support and serve our vulnerable elder population. She helps incredibly passionate people become the best possible non-medical, holistic doulas they can be so that they can help the people that need them the most.
